Are you drowning in tasks? Struggling to keep track of multiple projects?
You're not alone.
This week, I'm sharing a method I developed in the early 2000s (shortly after I transitioned from a paper planner to a digital system.)
Those who have read Get Organized!: Time Management for School Leaders learned the technique in Chapter 5. It's the Next Step xx Goal technique.
How It Works
Define your project's end goal (What will be "true" when you are "done."
Identify the precise next step
Separate the elements with "xx"
Set a date for when you want to see that next step.
Quick Wins
Instantly track all projects
Never miss a deadline
Impress your boss with your organization
I don't know of another author or book that approaches the subject of projects the way you will see here.
It works with any task manager. It even works with an Excel spreadsheet.
This is the answer for someone who is not using subtasks. (Some task managers offer subtasks; some do not. Some include them for free; some offer subtasks only through their paid plans.)
